Terms of Service
Last updated 19 September 2026. Claim Your City is operated by Zakaryae Alaoui (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, claiming a tile or otherwise using this site, you enter into an agreement with Zakaryae Alaoui on the terms below.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or continuing to use Claim Your City, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation; if you use it as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age in your country.
2. What you are buying
Claiming a tile grants a digital display and participation right on the Claim Your City map: the ability to show a name, an emoji and a short public message on the tiles you claimed. It does not grant ownership of land, real estate, geographic territory, shares, tokens, NFTs, or any financial or investment product. No return, resale value, yield or appreciation is promised or implied.
3. Your account and your claims
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any personalization link confidential, and for all activity carried out under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the content you publish on your tiles.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular you must not: use it unlawfully or for fraud, spam or deceptive purposes; infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others; impersonate any person, brand or authority; upload malware; probe, scan or interfere with the security or integrity of the service; or scrape, crawl or extract data by automated means without our written permission. Published content must also follow our Content Policy.
5. Intellectual property
We retain all ownership of the service and its intellectual property, including the software, map interface, design, documentation and the Claim Your City branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the scope of the tiles you claimed. You may not reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service, or circumvent its technical limits. You keep the rights in the content you publish and grant us a limited licence to host, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating the service and its share cards.
6. Service availability
This is an early-stage product. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features, city availability and pricing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Payments, billing and refunds
Tiles are priced at 1 unit of the displayed currency per tile, with a minimum of 4 tiles per claim, and are charged at checkout. Reserved tiles are released automatically if payment is not completed within the reservation window. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, applicable taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. See also our Refund Policy.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, in whole or in part, in the event of material breach of these terms, non-payment or a reversed payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of our Content Policy. We may hide public content that breaches our policies; the underlying transaction record is retained for accounting purposes. On termination you may request an export of your published content within 30 days, after which it may be deleted.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. You indemnify us against claims arising from the content you publish, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Swiss law, and disputes will be heard by the competent courts of Switzerland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the latest version. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
